Life is short.

Life is short, right? Wrong. Life is long. Life is meant to be lived, every day. Of course, there are people whose lives are cut short but those people who we’ve lost too soon should also be our motivation to LIVE life. Not live as in wake up every day going on about the same routine, actually LIVE life. Go visit another country, book a random trip with a friend, do something that scares the shit out of you, face a fear, drive across the country, visit an old friend, go skydiving, call your grandparents, check some items off your bucket list!

It’s easy to get caught up in the routines of life, especially when you have a job, family and kids, that you have to keep on a schedule, or just don’t feel like you have enough time to do things outside of your routine. And I know doing one thing every day to help you live, experience and enjoy life can be difficult, especially for a working individual or family. But I think it’s important to pick a day or two out of the week to get out and live. Go to trivia night with your friends, join an adult intramural league, take your kids to see a movie, go to an arcade, have a weekly family dinner/game night. Create those memories that you can look back on and remember the fun times, laughter, competition and good food that you shared with the people you share your life with.

While it's great to get out and experience life and check off some items that are on your bucket list, life is also lived in the quiet moments. The moments of uninterrupted quality time with your family and friends over dinner or while you’re reminiscing about your younger years around a campfire. Sitting on the couch drinking coffee with your best friends, watching the sunset by the lake with your significant other, going camping in the mountains and falling asleep under the stars every night, or taking time to relax and unwind in a bubble bath by yourself with no one around and no distractions. These moments and experiences are needed to reset and remind ourselves of this life that we’ve been given, how precious it is and how we need to cherish the time that we have with the people we love, and most importantly, ourselves.

Our mindset creates the idea of life being short and it’s time for that to change. Life gets busy and time goes by fast but remember to live in the chaos and the quiet.

When one door closes.

The other day, I posted a picture on my personal Instagram and it read, “the cost of procrastination is the life you could’ve lived”, and I typed on the screen “READ IT AGAIN” in capital letters becau

Who runs the world? Routines.

As I sat down to write an article for this week, all I could think about is how difficult it has been to do life lately. From juggling work and my social life, making time for my family and friends in
